Role: The Employability Support Worker is a role within the Elevate-Glasgow PSP team which offers a person-centred approach and service for individuals in recovery.

The Employability Support Worker will make a real impact to individuals’ day to day lives as they uniquely tailor their personal development, offer emotional and practical support and set realistic goals as part of their journey to employability opportunities.

The Employability Support Worker will be employed by, and based in, Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA). GCA is the lead partner of the PSP.

Experience in a previous employability/social/support work environment or voluntary sector role is essential. Candidates must have good communication skills, be flexible and have a positive attitude.

You will require a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland. The job is dependent on suitable references.

Organisation Profile: Elevate-Glasgow is a Public Social Partnership (PSP). Its aim is to improve the design of services for people in recovery from substance misuse regarding their employability and to enhance partner agencies’ commitment to collaboration and innovation in the delivery of support services.

Public Social Partnerships (PSPs) are strategic partnering arrangements, through which the public sector can collaborate with third sector organisations (voluntary, charity and social enterprise organisations) to share responsibility for designing services. A key principle of this approach is that services are designed co-productively with service users.

Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA) was founded in 1965 and is the oldest established Council on Alcohol in Scotland. GCA is a voluntary organisation working to reduce the harm caused by alcohol misuse through the provision of a range of high quality advice, information, counselling, support, prevention and education and training services.

The Community Alcohol Brief Intervention Practitioner will provide a community based Alcohol Brief Intervention service in the wider community and primary care settings in Glasgow in partnership with other statutory, voluntary and community agencies in the area.

• Experience of identifying and responding to income generation opportunities and building productive relationships and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate the organisation’s vision and direction to varied audiences.

This role will form a crucial part of AFS’s work to deliver improvements in policy and practice.

The post is currently envisaged to last for a fixed term for 18 months, however, there may be an opportunity to extend at AFS’s sole discretion, based on performance and output.

GamCare is now looking to recruit two Treatment Practitioners to work within our new problem gambling treatment services within the Central Belt area and Glasgow. This services will work closely with The RCA Trust, our partner which provides gambling treatment in other areas of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Providing face to face and telephone advice, assessment, brief or structured interventions and groups work to help people achieve their goals
• Ensuring safeguarding issues are managed effectively
• Work in partnership with other local services

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) tools.

You will form part of an enthusiastic team working from several locations. Our service will be based in the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

We are looking for individuals to work full time which will include some evenings and possible Saturdays.
