Our specialist day centres engage individuals living across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife who have a mental health diagnosis. We provide individualised therapeutic supports to promote good mental health, physical wellbeing and reduce social isolation for over 400 people in community use spaces, or within one of the three centres located throughout Edinburgh and Fife.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate(s) will have solid experience of working with people in the care and support sector and, just as importantly, they’ll be able to demonstrate an innovative and empathetic approach to delivering services. They will understand person-centred support and be just as passionate about it as we are.

Experience of leadership is important as you will play a lead role in supporting the Manager of the service by supporting and developing the staff team. As part of the leadership team you will be fully involved in the delivery of excellent, personalised services.

You should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of monitoring and evaluating a quality framework, whilst ensuring excellent service provision alongside staff support and supervision.

What will the role involve day-to-day?

As the Team Leader of a Wheatley Care service, you will be computer literate and have a sound understanding of mental health. You will work closely with the Health and Wellbeing Manager of the service to share responsibility for the day-to-day running of all elements of service provision. This will include: leading and supporting staff; ensuring the work of all staff is co-ordinated effectively; participating directly in the support of the people we work for; implementing policies and procedures; and developing/implementing strategies for engagement. Additionally, the individual appointed will work alongside external partner organisations to lead for Wheatley Care on the operational processes of the service.

You will need to have some flexibility to work various shift patterns and you will be required to participate in the organisations on-call service, for which an appropriate allowance is paid.

At Wheatley Care we support staff to develop their career and reach their potential through a range of learning and development opportunities.

As part of a wider care organisation, you should have, or be willing to work towards a SSSC recognised qualification, such as SVQ3 Health and Social Care and a relevant supervisory management qualification. Wheatley Care will support you to achieve any relevant qualifications you will require as a Team Leader within an agreed timescale. Your commitment to gaining the necessary qualifications would be essential.

You will be required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, but we can also support you with this application.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of using and evaluating a quality framework, whilst ensuring the delivery of excellent service provision alongside staff support.

What will the role involve day-to-day?

The individual will be accountable for managing service budgets and leading on the strategic direction of the service. To achieve this, the candidate will supervise and work closely with the Health and Wellbeing Team Leader of the service to delegate responsibility for the day-to-day running of operational service provision. They will report into the Senior Management Team and be a responsible lead for matters involving staff performance and HR management processes.

Additionally, the individual appointed will: ensure that the service is fulfilling its contractual obligations with commissioners (through a process of monitoring and review); implement policies and procedures; develop/implement strategies for engagement; and work alongside external partner organisations to lead for Wheatley Care on the strategic aspects of the service.

Linstone is a registered social landlord based in Linwood, Renfrewshire. We are a charity that owns and manages approximately 1,600 properties, providing affordable rented and supported housing as well as providing factoring services to a further 2,000 owner occupiers.

We have an exciting new temporary post within Linstone as we look to transform the digital telecare services for our tenants. The Digital Transformation Officer will work within the Corporate Services team to initially plan and implement the transition of our telecare services from analogue to end-to-end digital for the tenants we support within our 74 sheltered properties and then, more extensively pilot opportunities to extend these services for those with support needs across our wider community. Digital telecare offers individuals, families and carers, security and peace of mind and enables people to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible.

The post holder will also be heavily involved in the design and implementation of the wider role aspect of Linstone’s Digital Transformation Strategy.
