This is an interesting time to be joining the organisation as we are in the planning stages of shaping the provision of our future services, which includes re-designing, expanding, and opening new services to enable us to support more vulnerable children and adults living across the North East of Scotland. Models of social care are rapidly evolving, and we aim to be at the forefront of transforming services to deliver better outcomes for the people who need and use our services.

VSA operate across the full spectrum of social care and support children, young people, adults and older adults. We support people from birth to end of life across a range of residential and community-based outreach support services. Now more than ever, more people need our help and support.

This role is pivotal to our ambitions' of driving forward our position as a leading provider of social care services. We seek a highly skilled and creative storyteller who can write compelling grant funding bids. The role is responsible for securing funding from a wide range of sources and will involve taking ownership of securing funding to support a wide range of projects across the organisation.

You will be building relationships with funders, writing applications, networking and providing first-class stewardship to a range of stakeholders. You will need a track record of raising significant funds from trusts and experience of multi-million-pound bids.

You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to assess impact, costs, and added value.

Shared Lives Plus is the UK membership charity for more than 6,000 Shared Lives carers, 150 Shared Lives schemes and a growing network of over 25 local Homeshare organisations.

We want to reduce loneliness and help make our communities more connected. We believe everyone should be able to choose who they spend time with. We offer guidance, best practice and a community of people sharing their lives, legal advice and insurance.

Over the past four years, the Homeshare UK team have driven the growth and development of Homeshare across the UK and ROI. This role will bring Homeshare to Scotland by supporting three geographic areas to plan and develop a new service in their area.

The key objectives for our Homeshare Development Officer include:

• Supporting the development and start-up of 3 new Homeshare programmes in Scotland.
• Supporting Homeshare to become recognised as a mainstream housing and a preventative social care model.
• Working with the Homeshare UK team to support the promotion of Homeshare across Scotland, the UK, and worldwide though our international work.
• Supporting an increase in the adoption of Homeshare, particularly by people from diverse background and communities.

FareShare now operates 22 Regional Centres around the UK. The majority of these are run by local charitable organisations we call our Delivery Partners. This enables us to be a UK-wide organisation yet also think and behave with local concerns at the heart of our actions. We support 10,943 local charities and groups – our Community Food Members. Over the past year over 20,000 tonnes of food were redistributed by FareShare Regional Centres nationwide, feeding 975,000 people every week. While surplus food can be an important source of food aid in times of crisis, in Scotland we endeavour to use surplus food for wider social good; to support community development, supporting front line organisations tackling the causes and effects of food insecurity and helping to build resilient communities. FareShare’s nationwide network of regional centres

FareShare Scotland is delivered by a partnership of 4 major Scottish charities; Cyrenians, Move On, Transform CD and , running the 4 Regional centres with compliment of paid staff and development managers. The Regional centres are supported by FareShare UK who provide leadership, support services and surplus food sourcing. Volunteers are the life blood of FareShare, ensuring the food received from the UK’s food industry, makes its way to the charities and community groups we support. We aspire to grow our number of volunteers to help us deliver our mission and that of our member charities and community groups, whilst helping to ensure the ongoing sustainability of FareShare Scotland’s Regional Centres.

Main purpose of this role

The Scottish Affairs lead is responsible for Government relations, policy and strategic development for FareShare Scotland and the management of Scottish corporate affairs and communications. The role works closely with the Scottish Network Development Manager and FareShare’s delivery partners’ Heads of Service to develop and deliver on policy priorities in Scotland.

Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and we are focused on one goal – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. We continue to change the lives of more than 1.6 million children who today will receive Mary’s Meals.

The part-time West of Scotland supporter engagement officer will play a key role in the development and implementation of fundraising activities by Mary’s Meals in the UK. The officer will help to develop local strategies and plans, to secure increased support and funding for Mary’s Meals school feeding programmes around the world.

Responsibilities include: growing and nurturing our volunteer network by building relationships with community volunteers, churches, schools, and faith groups.

This role is office-based, working in the community in the West of Scotland (All office staff are currently working at home due to Covid-19).
