Who are Includem?
Includem is a brilliant third sector organisation that provides intensive, bespoke support to young people in challenging circumstances and their families. We believe that no young person is ever beyond help and through a 24/7 service which is responsive to their needs, we empower them to make positive life choices.
What does the role involve?
- Working independently with young people, but also as part of a team of support.
- Providing emotional support and linking in with service delivery teams to ensure an appropriate response to our young people or their families.
- The opportunity to work directly with our young people and their families in their communities.
The ideal candidates should be able to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week with a view to working more hours as and when required (including evenings and weekends). As sessional Mentors work directly with young people and families in the community there is a requirement that you can drive and have access to a car for work purposes.

- Ability to build relationships with young people and their families
- An awareness of issued facing vulnerable young people and their families
- Ability to respond flexibly to changing situations led by the needs of the young person and their families
- Good organisational skills
- Be a team player but also be able to work on your own initiative
- Be self-motivated and flexible
- Ability to provide emotional, practical and social support
- Good communication skills both written and verbal including ability to maintain accurate records
- Reliability and commitment to deliver the relationship based model of intervention
- Ability to drive and have access to own car for work purposes
All posts require individuals to:
- Work flexibly to meet the demands of the service, involving regular weekend and evening work
- Develop safe, professional and committed relationships with young people and families
- Use their communication skills effectively to influence, record and evidence positive change and provide personalised, risk enabled, professional support
- Be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle for work purposes
- Become a member of the PVG scheme (paid for by Includem)
- To be registered or become registered with SSSC and hold or be willing to work toward an SVQ2 in a relevant discipline (qualifications are fully funded by Includem)
- Attend team meetings and any relevant training courses

The Project Worker role provides an opportunity to be part of Rock Trust’s well established Supported Accommodation Project, supporting homeless and care experienced young people to develop independent living skills and transition to permanent accommodation.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will be responsible for:
- Building trusting relationships with young people
- Developing high quality support plans alongside young people
- Providing emotional, social and practical support to assist young people to develop independent living skills
- Maintaining Rock Trust properties to a high standard
- Working in a psychologically and trauma informed manner

The Board are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation to deliver the charitable objectives. As a member of the Board of Trustees you will be responsible for ensuring the effective oversight and governance within the organisation for the benefit of the vulnerable young people we support.
Open Door have an experienced management team who are responsible for the day-to-day management and service delivery of the organisation’s support staff. The Board will be responsible for the supervision of the Chief Executive to take overall responsibility for the organisation, acting collectively and effectively in its interests by giving strategic direction and determining our mission and vision. The Board make decisions required for assurance and management of the organisation, ensuring compliance, good governance and adequate financial resources for our services whilst protecting our assets and property. The Board also ensure we manage risks carefully, as a responsible employer and uphold the principles of equality and diversity.
Board meetings are held on a monthly to six weekly basis, typically in the evening.
