Blue Triangle is a specialist Housing Association and Charity helping vulnerable people to achieve better lives. Our clients face a range of challenges including homelessness and a variety of health conditions and disabilities, social isolation, addiction, and dependence issues.

Our mission is to “Assist vulnerable people achieve better lives”.

Our vision is to “Put the needs of individuals at the heart of everything we do”.

What our clients say about us “The best bit… the support from staff, staff are great. I’ve improved my communication skills and I feel good”. “I can’t say enough about how amazing they are. They meant everything when I was down and couldn’t get up”.

Following the recent appointment of our new Chief Executive, Iain Macfarlane, we are moving into a period of transformational change and exciting opportunities that will embrace government expectations and build on how we enhance and serve our communities. By being progressive and forward thinking, we are committed to providing services that meet the changing needs of society.

Board Members have overall responsibility for strategy, governance, and oversight. They each bring different expertise to ensure that, together, we can cover these responsibilities. They work collaboratively with the Executive Management Team to formulate plans for the future and deliver our organisations strategic goals.

If you share our passion for supporting and enabling stability and progress for people affected by homelessness or substance use, why not join our board to help shape our strategic direction and make sure we focus on what matters?

We are seeking active and engaged members of the board who will bring with them self-motivation, time and dedication but will also bring passion, drive and enthusiasm to the role to help us make a difference to the lives of those who use our services. Previous experience on a board is not required.

We would like to hear from people with a variety of backgrounds, who can bring different conversations and skills to our organisation. We particularly welcome people with experience in:

  • Lived experience of homelessness, addiction, or dependence needs.
  • Commissioning of Services.
  • Transformation change management (IT, and or HR).
  • Financial, and or Accounting.
  • Legal.
  • Social Housing.
  • Supporting vulnerable people.
  • Entrepreneurial skills.

Board Membership is a rewarding volunteer role and while not remunerated, expenses are reclaimable. The time commitment for board members attendance is 8-10 meetings per year, plus an annual away day. We also encourage board members to provide additional time to support specific tasks or initiatives and to provide a sounding board to our team and other board members. Meetings are normally located in Glasgow but are currently meeting online virtually.
