At Stirling Community Enterprise, we see the potential in everyone and are committed to supporting those experiencing barriers to employment to progress in life through training, support and fair work opportunities. We are excited to announce the recruitment of a Youth Officer to complement and enhance our existing Employability training and support team.
This post is a direct response to the impact of the COVID pandemic on the employment prospects of the Young People (16-24) within our communities and is funded by the Scottish Governments Young Person’s Guarantee (YPG) Scheme.
In partnership with Stirling Council and the key Employability Partners in the Stirling Council area, SCE’s Transition Employability (Youth) Officer, will provide employability support to Young People, who face multiple barriers to employment, at key transition points to assist them to achieve their ambitions.
The Young Person's Guarantee (YPG), backed by an additional £60 million investment, aims to give all young people in Scotland the chance to succeed despite the economic impacts of coronavirus. The initial report, Delivering the Youth Guarantee from Sandy Begbie sets out the ambition to “guarantee to every young person aged between 16 and 24 in Scotland the opportunity, based on their own personal circumstances and ambitions, of going to university or college, an apprenticeship programme, training, fair employment including work experience, or participating in a formal volunteering programme.”
If you are passionate about working with young people and experienced in working in partnership to deliver employability support then this may be the role for you.
