Scotland Administrative Coordinator

  • Full time
  • £21,379
  • Edinburgh (currently home based)
  • Closing 18th January 2021

  • Advertised from 11th January 2021
  • To end of March 2022

Are you an experience and enthusiastic administrator wanting to work with a small team delivering high impact? Are you organised and forward thinking? Do you have a natural affinity for people? The Samaritans Scotland staff team need someone who can join us to become the bedrock of our day-to-day operation.

As a Samaritan you’ll be part of an established charity which, for over 60 years, has been delivering services to some of the most vulnerable people across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Our mission is to reduce the number of people who die by suicide and we pride ourselves in taking a leading role in influencing suicide prevention policy and practice.

We’re keen to hear from candidates who are equally passionate about our charitable purpose. You’ll be part of a small staff team based in Edinburgh - though given the current pandemic we are all home working with lots of time together online until government guidance changes.

This will be a busy role working across the team. You’ll be the first point of contact for the Scotland team and look after the office. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director, staying one step ahead to help her do her job. You’ll support the team with their day-to-day work and get involved in projects, like organising online events. And you’ll help us design and deliver improved processes to help our Scotland operation run smoothly.

Having had previous administration experience you’ll thrive on the buzz that comes with a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to share and action new ideas.

We want you to succeed and we’ll commit to developing you through involvement in initiatives geared towards your learning. But ultimately your success will hinge on your organisation, tenacity, resilience and collaborative style.

As an employer, we offer a good range of benefits, including 25 days’ holiday, three well-being days, flexible working, Health Cash Plan, Pension and interest-free season ticket loans.

Samaritans is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity, and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the unique person that they are. We warmly welcome applications from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
