CEMVO Scotland is a national intermediary organization and strategic partner of the Scottish Government with the aim of building the capacity of the ethnic minority voluntary sector and its communities.
We are seeking a person with extensive knowledge of climate change issues with the ability to engage with, and contribute effectively to environmental decision making processes and policy development.
The ideal candidate, regardless of background, should have a good understanding / appreciation of race equality issues to enable the person to empathise with ethnic minority communities, and to use that knowledge to help mainstream environmental agencies / stakeholders to recognize and address environmental mainstreaming of race / equalities.
The person will also need to have extensive skills and experience in organizing engagement events, and delivering capacity skills training, including environmental leadership.
The main role of this post is to support the further development of an ethnic minority environment network that we have developed over the last few years which has a membership of over 100 EM groups / individuals. Thus, you will need to have experience in developing and supporting a network / forum to engage with decision making and policy development processes.
