Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) is the National Development Body for Scotland’s museums and galleries. We support more than 400 museums and galleries, through strategic investment, advice, advocacy and skills development.

We are looking for a Project Administrator to support skills development projects and programmes. Three days a week will be given to supporting Surviving to Thriving: Supporting Sustainable Heritage Businesses, an 18-month project run by MGS in partnership with BEFS and Greenspace Scotland and funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). This post will support delivery of a programme of training within Scotland’s heritage sector, to increase sustainable business practise within these diverse organisations. Two days a week this post will provide support services to the Skills team across a range of other projects.

Responsibilities will include administration of training courses, organisational interventions, and events as well as all elements of project administration, information management recording, and document management. The post will also involve regular engagement with participating organisations and training providers.

You will have significant administrative experience including event support; and be confident developing effective and efficient processes and managing data and documents. Excellent time management, organisation skills and an ability to deliver over multiple projects are essential and you will be a strong communicator with a customer-focused approach. Collaborative working with colleagues, partners and throughout the sector is a vital aspect of this role.

In particular this role requires someone who conveys energy and enthusiasm about their work, can make effective decisions following appropriate criteria, organises and plans work effectively, readily contributes ideas and willingly adapts working practices to support changes.
