Trust seeks Independent Member of its Nominations Committee
The National Trust for Scotland is looking for an independent member to join its Nominations Committee.
The Nominations Committee is responsible for ensuring that the Trust adopts open and transparent processes in filling vacancies within the Trust’s governance. The Committee is composed of three members of the Board of Trustees and two independent members. The Committee is chaired by one of the independent members.
It is important that the Nominations Committee reflects the diversity of the Trust’s stakeholders. This is achieved by drawing upon the wide-ranging backgrounds of the elected Trustees and complementing those with two carefully selected independent members. Independent Members should have experience and expertise of leadership and corporate governance at an executive and/or non-executive level in other organisations of a similar scale and complexity as the Trust in the public and charity sector.
The expected time commitment of the post is at least four meeting days per year in addition to preparation and travel time.
For further information on the role description and person specification, please go online to nts.org.uk/vacancies. Interested candidates should in the first instance, send a covering e-mail and CV to the Trust Secretary at TrustSecretary@nts.org.uk.
Applications close Friday 15th January 2021 at noon. Please note that emails will not be monitored between noon on Christmas Eve through to Tuesday 5th January.
