Role

Are you looking to take your fundraising career to the next level?

If you are looking to create a better work/life balance this could be the job for you!

Gordonstoun is situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, set within a beautiful 200-acre woodland campus close to the town of Elgin and walking distance of stunning expansive beaches.

It is one of the most prestigious independent schools in the UK and is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. Gordonstoun was rated as “Outstanding and Sector leading” by HM Inspectors in 2019. It has a co-educational community of over 500 students aged from 5-18 who are predominantly full boarding and are drawn from over 40 countries.

We are looking for an ambitious individual to work in the newly re-structured Development Office. The Development Officer is a key post and will be responsible for working with the team to generate income for key School initiatives. The school motto is ‘Plus est en Vous’ – ‘There is more in You’ which relates to all staff as well as students, challenging people to stretch themselves beyond what they may think that they are capable of.

The postholder will primarily take the lead on developing and managing the regular giving programmes – including the telephone campaign; identifying, developing and managing a portfolio of prospects, including individuals, trusts and foundations and other statutory funding bodies with the aim of raising philanthropic income including legacy pledges. We are also looking for someone whose happy place is working with the CRM to manage and analyse data as it relates to the successful management of all fundraising activities. In order to drive forward our ambitious plans, we have contracted Cairney & Co, a company of consultants with a global footprint, so you will have access to excellent advice and support.

We are striving to build a team that is truly inclusive and welcome applicants from marginalised and under-represented groups. Given the location of the school, we are prepared to consider flexible working, where the postholder may work from home for part of the week.*In addition, the salary offer will genuinely reflect the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
