This is an exciting opportunity to join the Scottish Women’s Aid team, as Children and Young People’s (CYP) Policy Worker (job share). The role holder will ensure that Scottish Women’s Aid is well placed to continue to influence and respond effectively to the changing policy and legislative landscape in Scotland, specifically in relation to children and young people affected by domestic abuse.
Scottish Women’s Aid is Scotland’s leading voluntary sector organisation working to prevent domestic abuse and promote effective policy and practice responses for women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse. We are the umbrella organisation for 36 autonomous Women’s Aid groups delivering direct services to women, children, and young people across Scotland.
What You’ll Do
The CYP Policy Worker will work with a diverse range of stakeholders to identify and influence key policy areas relevant to SWA and its member organisations. You will ensure you maintain and build effective relationships and alliances to aid in providing solutions, contributing to an evidence based approach to the development of relevant public policy and strategy.
What We Need
The successful candidate will have experience in the field of children’s policy and/or children’s human rights, preferably in relation to gender inequality or gender based violence. You will be a confident networker with strong public speaking skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
