Due to programme expansion, there is an exciting opportunity to bring outdoor learning to the heart of communities; Encouraging, supporting, and motivating children and young people to gain the life skills required to thrive in the modern world.

OutLET: Play Resource is looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people to succeed. You will haves experience of working with young people from a wide range of backgrounds and will have an in-depth knowledge of the play work principles, Forest School ethos and trauma informed practice. The play ranger position is fully outdoors, and you must be comfortable working outdoors in all weathers.

In this role you will join a small team of outdoor practitioners who work with care experienced children and young people who need additional support in accessing and achieving in mainstream education.

As part of the team you will deliver outdoor learning programmes such as bushcraft and environmental programmes and nurture groups.

We are seeking a kind individual, who can be consistent in their interactions with young people. They will have excellent communication skills with both children and adults and work well in a small team.

This post will involve occasional evening and weekend work.

Essential – Driver with access to a car / PVG check.

Play Ranger Position - 14 hours per week, (expected to be Thursday & Friday) with options of overtime.

6-month contract with possibility of extension.

Home based, travel across Lanarkshire and other areas may be required.

Due to the current climate, interviews will take place in 2 stages.

Initial interviews will be conducted virtually and those who are successful at this stage will be invited to a socially distanced interview in an outdoor woodland environment.

Initial interviews will take place during the week over Tuesday 8th December and Wednesday 9th December.

If successful at stage 1 then stage 2 Outdoor Interview will be on Wednesday 16th December.
