Survivors Unite exists to support the recovery of adult survivors (16 years and older) of childhood sexual abuse in the Scottish Borders. Survivors Unite was originally developed and supported by Children1st. In 2019 it became an independent charitable organisation in its own right.

The charity works with survivors in all phases of recovery from childhood sexual abuse. Our Safe Oaks Project offers an integrated service combining 1:1 Peer Support, Counselling/therapy and a Facilitated Peer Support Group.

You will work as part of a team with other key staff (two counsellors, a peer support worker, and the Clinical Practice Lead). We have a well-established Board of trustees, and have been successful in securing funding for our work from a variety of sources, including The Scottish Government, The National Lottery Community Fund, The Robertson Trust, Foundation Scotland, The Volant Trust, and The Murdoch-Forrest Trust, as well as local and much valued donations (e.g. from the Hawick Community Panto fund). We are now ready to take the organisation forward, and are looking for someone with project management expertise who would like to help us with this.

The job description will be reviewed by the Board, with the collaboration of staff, members and volunteers, within 6 months of the post being filled and as required subsequently. Any adjustments will be made with the agreement of the Board and members of staff and volunteers concerned.

Role: (see job description for further information)

We are looking for someone with project management experience to take the lead within Survivors Unite for the effective management and delivery of our Safe Oaks integrated model of support, working collaboratively with our Clinical Practice Lead, the Board, our other staff, volunteers and other members, and also with our partners and funders, and to develop the organisation's profile. We want to develop Survivors Unite as a key provision for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the Scottish Borders.
