Role

Venture Trust works with people experiencing complicated life circumstances. Through the provision of wilderness-based personal and social development programmes, we equip them with the confidence, motivation and core life skills that they need to make positive changes in their lives.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for skilled trainers and employability workers with experience of working with disadvantaged groups within a welfare-to-work and employability focussed environment, to join our team in the role of Employability Worker. We are looking for two individuals who will be responsible for developing and managing external referral networks in their area to ensure that recruitment for Venture Trust employability programmes and services runs efficiently. You will support the planning of and lead on the delivery of employability programmes for participants in the third stage of a Venture Trust programme and for participants referred directly to our employability services. Session content will vary depending on specific programmes and client groups, but will have a practical focus on group work, job search, skills acquisition e.g. health and safety and other entry level qualifications. The role will also involve ongoing pastoral support to identify and remove barriers to employment and broker employability opportunities with external stakeholders where possible.

Key to success in this role will be strong communication and relationship building skills, not only to deliver client work, but to liaise effectively with Outreach Worker colleagues to tailor session content to client need and seek and provide updates on progress. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to ensure thorough and accurate records are kept, while experience of development training and/or informal education and a degree in an appropriate field would also be advantageous. Please note, UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.

We offer a range of generous benefits including 28 days annual leave and 9 public and bank holiday days, flexible working and a joint contributory pension scheme.

Venture Trust is committed to promoting equality and diversity in employment and follows an equal opportunities policy.
