Role

Simon Community Scotland’s vision is for everyone to have a safe place to live with access to the help they need. We support adults and young people who are homeless and sleeping rough by providing them with emergency shelter as well as homes in the community.

We work with people so that they can resolve their homelessness as quickly as possible. We maintain contact with people – in diverse circumstances – so that we can help them address the underlying reasons for their homelessness and get the support they need, recover and thrive.

A Support Worker post is the ideal opportunity for an individual with experience of working with homeless people or rough sleepers and great support/case working skills to advance their career with our amazing charity.

In this role, you will discover a supportive, communicative environment where we are all focused on the same goal of reducing homelessness and providing safe, secure accommodation for people who have experienced rough sleeping.

As the colder weather approaches, homeless people find it harder and harder to stay safe and healthy. Your role will provide a vital link for them to access healthcare services and accommodation and will potentially save lives. Winter is always a particularly tough time, however in 2020, we have the new challenge of COVID, are you strong and resilient enough to join this fight with us?

If you are passionate about supporting people out of homelessness then this job is for you. Exciting opportunities have arisen across all our Trauma Informed services in Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, Perth and Edinburgh. We have a range of services that include, Outreach, Tenancy Sustainment, Street Work, Information Hubs and accommodation services that provide housing support, including specialist women's services. We are currently looking for Support Workers to join our teams. Our work takes place 7 days a week 24 hours a day at times that meet the needs of the people we support

So, if you are ready to make an impact on the homeless population across the West of Scotland and deliver outstanding services to people who need them the most, send us your application so we can learn more about you. If you are lucky enough to join our fantastic team, in return you will receive a competitive salary, 4% contributory pension, 35 days minimum annual leave, cycle to work scheme, buy and sell holiday scheme and access to staff welfare services
