Health and Wellbeing Adviser

Project aims

The project will work and support the disadvantaged ethnic minority communities residing in the Southside of Glasgow.

Reporting to

Project Manager and Board of Trustees

Responsible for

to develop and assist the delivery of the day to day operations of the Springboard project. Ensuring high -quality service in line with the ethos, values, protocols and services standards of Awaz voice of the community, relevant legislation, funders agreed outcomes.

Social exclusion within Minority Ethnic communities is multi-dimensional with inter-related causes and the proposed project will help to increase social inclusion encouraging civic engagement, reduce poverty, improving physical and mental health. The project will tackle inequalities in

  • Poverty through providing welfare rights advice
  • Health and well-being through providing advice, exercise and cooking classes
  • Increase civic participation and visibility in local decision-making providing communication skills and confidence training.

Duties and Key responsibilities

Over the 2.5 years (29 months) we will be working with the community, each year we will assist

  • 400 people will be provided with advice through the hub.
  • 20 individuals will be supported to engage in local decision making
  • Referrals to made to external agencies

Personal Training and Development

  • Undertake appropriate training where necessary

You will be entitled to 16 days annual leave plus public holidays.

This position is funded through Glasgow Communities Fund (GCF) until March 31st 2023 and may be extended if further funding is secured.
