Role

Edinburgh University Students' Association is looking to recruit a Marketing Campaigns and Research Officer to join our Student Activities team.

The Role:

The Students’ Association’s Marketing and Communications team works to increase engagement with, and sales of, the Association’s activities (both on and offline) through the creation and delivery of effective communications, marketing campaigns and initiatives.

The Marketing Campaigns and Research Officer is responsible for the planning, execution and evaluation of key marketing campaigns which pre-dominantly support our non-commercial departments and our Sabbatical Officers. These include, but are not limited to:

• #NoExcuse – our anti-sexual harassment campaign

• Mental Health and Wellbeing Week

• Student Awards

• Fight for the Night

• Give it a go – our Activities Week in January

• LGBT+ History Month

• Sabbatical Officer led campaigns

In addition to working on large annual campaigns, the Marketing Campaigns and Research Officer will support day-to-day promotion of our Student Opportunities (societies, volunteering, peer learning and support, and social enterprise), Representation and Democracy, and Advice Place services. The post-holder will also contribute to the delivery of organisation wide initiatives and campaigns, for example Welcome Week and Elections.

This position will also support the Director of Marketing and Communications with the creation of a new Research and Insight Strategy, and will take the lead on delivering that strategy.

The role demands a solid understanding of marketing principles, research methods, creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of current marketing trends and a professional approach to process, deadlines and internal client support.

The Marketing Campaigns and Research Officer is required to produce fast and accurate work, undertaken with a keen eye for detail, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

The Person:

This role requires an enthusiastic, confident, creative and organised individual with demonstrable marketing and research experience.

Candidates should be confident in working on multiple projects to tight deadlines, have excellent project management skills and an eye for detail.

Due to the often sensitive subject matter in the campaigns this post will lead on, candidates will ideally have an interest or some experience in working on the types of campaigns outlined in the job description. Please remember to outline in your application why these subject areas interest you.

It is anticipated this role will work remotely until January 2021.
