The Wild Olive Tree is a busy social enterprise café situated in the heart of Glasgow city centre, within the Sanctuary of St George’s Tron Church of Scotland. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Café Manager who has the motivation, passion and energy to take the café forward. You will have excellent customer service and leadership skills and will understand the importance of combining efficiency with excellence. You will also be able to work with a variety of individuals from differing backgrounds, treating everyone with respect and dignity. The successful candidate will display a willingness to buy into the vision of the café.

The Wild Olive Tree is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). We partner with Glasgow City Mission and Bethany Christian Trust to provide workplace employability placements within the café to their clients, and we donate profits from the café to Glasgow City Mission and Bethany Christian Trust to further their work inGlasgow amongst the most vulnerable in our city. We also have a gifted scheme which allows customers to make donations towards the cost of providing free soup and tea/coffee to anyone unable to pay.

The Wild Olive Tree contributes to making St George's Tron Church of Scotland open and accessible to members of the general public, through providing a welcoming and affordable city centre café facility. Applicants should therefore be in sympathy with the Christian ethos of St George’s Tron Church of Scotland as a place of Christian worship, witness, mission and service.

Please note that this position is a 12-month maternity cover contract in the first instance, with the possibility of extension thereafter.
