The Advocacy Project has over 28 years’ experience in empowering individuals to know their rights and be involved in decisions that affect their lives. We have built a strong reputation advocating for people affected by the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. We have recently received additional funding to work with those navigating the Self-directed Support process and those affected by alcohol and drug misuse.

We are now recruiting for the position of Trainee Advocacy Worker. The successful candidate will be offered a traineeship which includes a robust induction programme, and will receive work-based learning and development to work towards completing the accredited Professional Practice Award in Independent Advocacy (SCQF rated level 7).
We are also seeking to recruit experienced Advocacy Workers who will fast track the traineeship to work towards completing the accredited Professional Practice Award.
Following completion of the Traineeship and the Professional Practice Award, the salary scale increases.
