Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle, by connecting people and places, creating liveable neighbourhoods, transforming the school run and delivering a happier, healthier commute. We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate individual to become a member of our team in Scotland.

This is an exciting role integral to the delivery of the policy and public affairs plan within Sustrans Scotland’s communications, policy and public affairs strategy the provision of specialist advice on policy areas relevant to our work in Scotland.

Using your experience of developing and implementing policy and public affairs strategies and delivery plans, you will support Sustrans public affairs work which will help influence decision makers, engaging with political parties, civic societies and other key national stakeholders. You will have experience of communicating through all forms of media and of providing specialist advice, briefings and support on relevant policy topics. You will have responded to policy consultations and have experience of developing policy positions. By monitoring contact with MSPs, you will be able to highlight gaps and opportunities and consolidate Sustrans presence at political conferences. You will have the ability to communicate complex policy positions and key research findings and develop productive working relations by effective networking. You will also have a good understanding of the policy and influencing context within which Sustrans works in Scotland and be passionate about sustainable transport.
