Do you have proven experience of coordinating and delivering marketing activities for a range of different audiences and an interest in putting your skills to use to help tackle one of Scotland’s biggest social issues? Then join Shelter Scotland as a Marketing & Brand Executive and you could soon be doing just that.
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change — with individuals, in communities, across society – and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.
About the role
Our Marketing & Brand team is responsible for promoting, protecting and developing the Shelter Scotland brand. Operating both proactively in developing new initiatives that are actively aligned to, and in support of, our strategic objectives, we also act as an internal MarComms support agency for the wider organisation. And, right now, we’re looking for a commercially aware and creative individual to join us as a Marketing & Brand Executive. A great chance to make the most of your marketing expertise, your challenge will be to coordinate and deliver marketing projects to increase brand awareness, drive the use of services and increase engagement with Shelter Scotland audiences. You’ll also act as our brand champion, provide second line support for our social media and email marketing activity, and much more.
You’ll need a relevant background and top-notch copy editing and proofreading skills. We’ll also be looking for a proven ability to maintain a network of contacts and build relationships at all levels using your polished communication skills. Innovative, customer-focused and happy working both on your own initiative and as part of a team, you’re well-organised and great at planning too. What’s more, you’re proficient using Microsoft Office applications and used to information recording and reporting using databases. CIM qualification would be a plus, but is not as important as your willingness to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas when appropriate.
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.
Shelter Scotland helps over half a million people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help.
