We are seeking a first-class Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join our Diabetes Scotland team. This post will lead the strategic planning, development and implementation of policy and public affairs in Scotland and work collaboratively with the Diabetes UK Policy, Campaigns and Mobilisation team on wider policy development and UK campaigns in order to inform and influence others inside and outside of Diabetes Scotland.

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will play a key role in the development and coordination of policy, knowledge and insight, public affairs campaigns, reports, events and promotion of the policy agenda across Diabetes Scotland and across UK. The role will also help influence the wider policy agenda through networking, horizon scanning, partnership working, consultation responses, insight and evidence gathering and promotion of policy positions.
You will have experience of working in a policy and public affairs role in a similar organisation and be able to demonstrate first class strategic thinking and planning skills. You will also be an excellent communicator and public speaker, skilled in analysis, writing reports, copy and other policy content for public and professional audiences. You will also have a broad knowledge of relevant policy areas, excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, at your own initiative and as part of a team.
