The Halliday Foundation meets both the immediate, practical needs and providing sustainable pathways out of poverty for people impacted by homelessness and deprivation - primarily in east end of Glasgow.

Using volunteers, the Halliday Foundation designs and delivers services to build self-esteem, reduce isolation, connect communities and develop employability skills. We build strong, trusting relationships free from stigma and judgement among the people who use our services, with donors and local community partners.

The Halliday Foundation have vacancies on the Board to oversee the management of the charity and ensure that it is financially viable, properly governed and complies with all relevant regulatory frameworks.

In addition to monitoring the charity’s governing work with volunteers and members, successful candidates should have a general interest in the health and well-being of those in poverty or those who are homeless and at-risk people and be able to contribute to the strategic work of the Board.

As a voluntary position, it will not be paid but travel and other expenses for attendance at meetings are reimbursed in line with our policy. As a local, inclusive charity we are keen this diversity continues to be reflected in our Board.

NYOS is currently seeking an Administration Officer as part of our Finance and Administration Team.

The Administration Officer will work closely with our Head of Finance and Administration to ensure that the wider NYOS team is supported to effectively deliver our work. The role will support the wider organisation to operate efficiently through the development and implementation of key new systems while maintaining and supporting ongoing operations.

Who we are – The Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust is a registered charity that promotes and supports school and youth pipe bands throughout Scotland. We have extensive relationships with autonomous school groups, local authorities and third-party organisations who share our interests in this field.

What we are looking for – an entrepreneurial and driven person holding extensive experience of fundraising and with a genuine interest in making it easier for local volunteer groups to raise funds for their pipe-bands. There is tremendous scope for sponsorships and grants as well as creating opportunities for local people to leave gifts in their will, and helping to boost cost-effective event fundraising.

Have you had extensive experience of fundraising and want to play a part in making this easier for others? Are you interested in innovative landscape design as well as improving garden maintenance — designing local fund raising schemes and templates as well as guiding volunteers into thinking the unthinkable?

With alcohol deaths rising and access to treatment at a ten-year low, Alcohol Focus Scotland’s role in advocating and supporting change has never been more important. Our Board has a vital role in ensuring the organisation is well-governed and able to deliver on our strategic plan.

Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) is Scotland’s national alcohol charity, committed to preventing and reducing harm to individuals, families, communities and Scotland as a whole.

Who we are looking for

We wish to recruit up to five new Directors to join our Board. In particular, we are looking for individuals who have skills, expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas of policy, practice and governance:

Policy and practice:

• public health, Alcohol and Drugs Partnerships or alcohol service provision research and or policy development in a relevant field (e.g. alcohol or commercial determinants of health, alcohol marketing)
• public affairs or campaigns
• the impact of alcohol on children, young people and families
• business development and delivery of training to external stakeholders

Governance:

• finance and fundraising
• charity and organisational governance (incl. human resources, equality and diversity, health and safety, data protection)
• legal knowledge relevant to AFS’s objectives (e.g. licensing law)
