Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland won’t stand for that. The care and support we deliver every day ensures everyone can live the life they want to. A core part of how we support people living with our conditions is through our award winning Advice Line.

The aim of Advice Line is to provide confidential, independent information, advice, support and ongoing caseload management to people affected by chest, heart and stroke illness (including COVID-19 & Long Covid), their families, carers and health professionals.

We are seeking someone who has experience of working with individuals who have a chest, heart or stroke illness and / or who have experience in telephone based support, to join the Advice Line team at an exciting time of expansion, and contribute to the ongoing development of the service in the delivery of the charity’s No Life Half Lived strategy.

We will expect you to be a registered healthcare professional within the UK and be regulated by an appropriate statutory body, have experience in working with people affected by chest, heart and / or stroke illness, excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident in IT and able to work under pressure to a high professional standard using own initiative.

The role of the Stroke Nurse is to facilitate a smooth transition from hospital back into the community, for people who have had a stroke and their families. The Stroke Nurse helps them adjust to the changes associated with the stroke, through the provision of information, advice and support.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is organized and motivated, with good communication skills. Candidates must have a first level general nursing qualification and have a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience in either a hospital or community setting. Experience working with people affected by stroke is desirable. The successful candidate will work as part of a CHSS stroke nurse team within Lothian and will receive full induction and support upon commencement of this role. This role is an excellent development opportunity for a current staff nurse working within a hospital or community setting and who would like to further advance their stroke care experience.

As Content Officer you will be working full-time within our dynamic Communications Directorate - turning leads for stories into written copy, video and web content that makes people emotionally connect with our cause.

We are currently delivering our No Life Half Lived strategy with an ambitious plan to develop new services, increase our reach and double our income.
