As a Relief Retirement Property Manager, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the retirement property as well as passing on any concerns about the wellbeing of tenants to their housing officer.

Who are we looking for

The successful candidate(s) will be able to work on their own initiative and able to respond to a crisis situation in a calm and practical manner.

An enthusiastic and caring professional who can work, adapt and thrive in a fast-paced organisation that is constantly changing.

Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and able to work collaboratively with customers and partner agencies to support the continued development of our communities.

At least two years’ experience in managing a retirement or similar scheme with a qualification in Housing at SVQ2 level or equivalent, or willing to work towards this qualification.

Excellent interpersonal skills with knowledge of services for the elderly and able to clearly demonstrate awareness and commitment to the ethos of retirement housing.

An elementary food hygiene certificate is essential for the role.

Good written and verbal communication and IT skills are essential to enable a consistent approach within the team.

In the role, you will support the delivery of our five-year strategy. Digital inclusion will be a big priority, and you will work with customers to ensure they are able to embrace digital technology and access the online services available to them.

The role will involve covering staff annual leave and sickness leave in our retirement properties across Edinburgh between Monday to Friday, 9am – 1pm.

This is initially a standalone position with the potential to build a small team.

You will have proven experience of working in an EDI role and of designing, delivering, implementing and evaluating training. With excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills, you will be highly self-motivated and demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude.

This is a full time position, but we’re happy to discuss flexible working.

We are looking for an individual to run FriendZ Space, our popular, online programme for adults with Down’s syndrome, The ideal candidate would have experience in planning sessions, facilitating groups (in person and online) for young people and adults with learning disabilities.

About Aberlour Options Fife - Respite and Outreach

Options Fife Respite and Outreach provides a range of flexible support through outreach and overnight short breaks at weekends, evenings and school holidays to children and young people with complex learning disabilities and autism. We offer a high-quality child centred service providing positive and enabling experiences for the young people, supporting them through the challenges and complexities that enable them to work towards their individual outcomes and personal goals. We work closely with families and other professionals in providing support tailored around the child’s plan.

What we are looking for....

We are looking to recruit two Young People’s Worker Nights, working four nights on (10 hours per night) every second week. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care. We support young people who have epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provides all staff with training.

We are looking for candidates who have a passion for working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. Due to SSSC requirements you may be required to gain qualifications after starting with Aberlour.
