Role

Role Purpose

To provide therapeutic support to Children and Young People experiencing domestic abuse during their stay in refuge and in follow on.

Role specific

1.Provide innovative and creative 1-1 and group work support to actively support CYP recovering from their experience of domestic abuse during their stay in refuge and when they move on into their own home.

2.Provide child centered support through Health and Wellbeing Plans in line with guidance and legislation.

3.Signpost and advocate for CYP with external agencies as appropriate

4.Develop and run an innovative and creative group work programme for children and young people.

5.Devise and maintain CYP paperwork and case notes.

6.Co-ordinate and provide a variety of play sessions and activities for CYP, including play schemes during school holidays, on a one to one or group work basis

7.Prepare relevant reports in relation to CYP for statutory and voluntary organisations when necessary

8.Identify appropriate tools and resources to meet individual needs.

9.Work out of hours when required.

10.Work in conjunction with Child Protection Policy and Procedure.

11.Work in conjunction with Women’s team where applicable.

12.Travel across the city, possibly with children in the vehicle.

13.Carry out role in a timely manner in line with policy and procedure.

14.Provide a Crisis Support service on a rota basis.
