Print Clan is an inclusive screen printing studio that nurtures creativity in people at any ability. We accommodate social, design and fine art based projects by offering access to screen printing resources and training. We are a community interest company in our second year of trading, looking to recruit two new advisory board members to mentor our organisation on a voluntary basis.

Print Clan is growing operations of subsidised-cost open access printing facilities to our members at our Glasgow studio on 241 High Street. We also run a variety of workshops and courses for the public, and work with third sector partners to connect the community to the art of screen printing.

We have adapted and grown our business despite Covid-19 challenges and are looking forward to opportunities when operating at full capacity in the next year.

We have identified the following areas as gaps in our current shared skill set so we would particularly value individuals with experience of:

• Legal. You will have the opportunity to guide the operational director on general legal matters and provide support to seek expert external legal counsel where required

• Grant funding and/or corporate partnerships. You will have the opportunity to help shape the income strategy and advise on funding applications and grant opportunities

Role requirements:

• Availability to advise and consult with us on finances and legal documents when required

• To attend physical or online board meetings: at present these are only held twice annually, but other meetings may be called throughout the year. Travel expenses will be reimbursed

• An interest in the legal structure of a Community Interest Company is preferable but not essential

Role benefits:

• The opportunity to join a growing community of passionate artists and makers, as well as a close knit team from varied backgrounds with specialised skill sets

• Insight into the background, structure and output of an arts based Community Interest Company

• The chance to help shape and support our organisation, which aims to be a sustainable model for community development through engaging people with the craft of screen printing

We are aiming to ensure that our board is diverse and representative of those we work with. We particularly encourage applications from marginalised genders, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities as well as people with diverse physical abilities and neuro-diversity. We welcome applications from anywhere in Scotland.

Print Clan advisory board members serve a term of one year, with the possibility of renewal for two more terms.
