Deafblind Scotland is a specialist charity working with adults living with dual sensory impairment. Our ambitions are high for members and we are therefore at the cutting edge of finding ways to support people to lead their most meaningful life.
The Touching Lives Take 2 (TLT2) project is a peer-led approach to addressing the social isolation experienced by many older adults living with deafblindness. TLT2 will enable deafblind people to acquire the necessary skills to become trainers in 1) deafblind awareness and 2) deafblind manual communication/guiding.
The Deafblind awareness and deafblind manual communication/guiding workshops will be provided to groups and organisations whose membership or remit supports the wellbeing of older people within Fife and East Dunbartonshire.
The Project Officer will work with a steering group of deafblind people to market, plan and deliver peer lead deafblind awareness training within East Dunbartonshire. The successful candidate will support the training of deafblind people as well as identifying suitable groups, partners and organisations to receive the Deafblind awareness training. The project officer will co-ordinate and manage all aspect of delivery within East Dunbartonshire and implement a monitoring strategy ensuring all project aims and objectives are met.
Closing Date: 9am Monday 25th January 2021
Interviews will take place 1st and 2nd February 2021
