Glasgow South East Carers Centre provides services to unpaid family Carers, who look after a family member or friend who cannot manage alone due to illness or disability, including Young Carers and their families.

The young YCSW post will provide a coordinated approach to working with young carers and their families to provide inclusive and holistic support through the provision of a range of person centred, coordinated, and outcome focussed services. This will include working in partnership with a range of statutory, voluntary and community organisations.

Although experience is desirable, a willingness and commitment to learning is key, underpinned by strong admin, communication and organisational skills.

Delivering key supports and services to Young Carers and their families during the current pandemic, the successful candidate will support our work via a mix of both home and office working.

The successful candidate will have a firm understanding and appreciation of unpaid family Carers, their roles, contribution and value to our communities. The focus for this post will be working with young carers and their families in the community.

Applicants must have an understanding of and commitment to the needs of carers, have excellent written and oral communication skills, have experience of developing support plans, providing an information and advice service, planning and delivery of services to support carers and have a knowledge and understanding of the policy drivers for unpaid carers, especially in relation to the Carers Act. An understanding of the welfare benefits system and a valid driving licence is desirable.

Glasgow South East Carers Centre provides services to unpaid family Carers, who look after a family member or friend who cannot manage alone due to illness or disability, including Young Carers and their families.

Working alongside our Carers Support Workers and directly with Carers, our TPSC will identify training and peer support opportunities which will enable Carers to manage their caring role and maintain their own health and wellbeing.

Whilst delivering peer support groups directly, the TPSC will source appropriate providers for other training opportunities. Training programmes will be innovative and continually developing, including those available online.

Shared Lives Plus is the UK membership charity for more than 6,000 Shared Lives carers, 150 Shared Lives schemes and a growing network of over 25 local Homeshare organisations.

Over the past four years, the Homeshare UK team have driven the growth and development of Homeshare across the UK and ROI. This role will bring Homeshare to Scotland by supporting three geographic areas to plan and develop a new service in their area.

The key objectives for our Homeshare Development Officer include:

• Supporting the development and start-up of 3 new Homeshare programmes in Scotland.
• Supporting Homeshare to become recognised as a mainstream housing and a preventative social care model.
• Working with the Homeshare UK team to support the promotion of Homeshare across Scotland, the UK, and worldwide though our international work.
• Supporting an increase in the adoption of Homeshare, particularly by people from diverse background and communities.

Age Scotland is the national charity for older people. We work to improve the lives of everyone over the age of 50 so that they can love later life.

We support and enable hundreds of community and older people’s groups across Scotland. We provide information, friendship and advice through our free helpline and publications. We tackle loneliness and isolation with our Community Connecting Service and much more.

We work in Scotland with older people’s groups who provide vital activities and services for older people in their local community. We campaign on the issues that older people tell us are important to them.

Our HR team are looking for a part-time HR & Payroll Administrator to:

• Support the HR Adviser & Head of Resources (HoR) with all administration associated with the employee life cycle from recruitment through to end of employment.

• Provide an effective and efficient administrative support function to ensure smooth and effective customer service is delivered to both internal staff and external clients in compliance with the Charity’s policy and procedures.

• Support the HR Adviser and HoR with monthly payroll and pensions processing for the Charity and its subsidiaries, in line with agreed SLAs.

The post will be a blend of office based (in Edinburgh) and home based work.

Due to the Covid outbreak in the UK, we have adapted our way of working in an effort to ensure the ongoing delivery of services, while minimising risk to our employees. Depending on guidance from the Scottish Government regarding the lifting of lockdown restrictions, this role may initially be completely home based, incorporating office work and face to face contact when it is safe to do so.
