Chamber Music Scotland is actively seeking a Chair and new Trustees to join our Board.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of individuals who will add new voices, perspectives and skills to our organisation. Applicants should ideally have practical involvement, or a strong interest, in chamber music. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with expertise in business strategy and management, together with some knowledge of areas such as:

  • Finance
  • Legal
  • Fundraising
  • Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Environment

These posts are voluntary, with no remuneration. However, reasonable travel expenses will be covered. The Board of Trustees meets four times a year, usually in Glasgow, although meetings currently take place online.

The Chair and new Trustees will join Chamber Music Scotland at an exciting and challenging time, as we continue to develop the organisation, embracing new thinking and new ways of supporting the people we work with, whilst developing chamber music in Scotland. You will act as an ambassador for CMS and be responsible for governance, directing and supporting the CMS staff team to continue to develop our work .

The Charitable Purposes of Chamber Music Scotland are:

  • "To support and promote chamber music in Scotland, and in furtherance thereof:
  • to maintain and expand a network of volunteer-run chamber music promoting organisations through the provision of financial and professional support;
  • to deliver creative experiences to communities and individuals across Scotland, in particular to those with limited access to the arts;
  • to support performers and composers, especially those based in Scotland, to create new work and develop sustainable opportunities within the chamber music sector;
  • to innovate and experiment in the presentation and performance of chamber music."
