Calman Trust works, based in Inverness, mainly with young people aged 15-25 who experience difficulty in the transition to independent living or the world of work, and are not yet ready or able to benefit from mainstream learning or training programmes. We offer the young person a bespoke combination of learning and support, believing that, with support to overcome the challenges they experience on the way to independent adulthood, young people are capable of achieving great things.
We are currently recruiting to positions in our response to the needs of young people in the Inner Moray Firth area looking to progress towards work and/or independent living in a post-Covid world.
The Youth Worker, Employability, will operate as part of the Calman Trust Learning and Development Team, with responsibility for enabling the participation and progression of young people aged 15-25 in the Easter Ross area towards employment and independent living. You will develop a working relationship with young people where they feel valued and understood, design and deliver learning activity that enables the young person’s participation and progression, undertake regular assessment of their learning needs and achievements, and reflect this in a personal learning plan which is owned and understood by the young person.
