Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work within our Technical Team at Home Energy Scotland as an In-home Specialist Energy Advisor. We have an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent customer service and engagement skills to join our team to support with delivering our Energy Carer service.

The primary purpose of this role is to represent and promote the Home Energy Scotland (HES) Energy Carer service, which is designed to help those struggling to heat their homes, to access appropriate support to achieve a level of affordable warmth. You will do this by supporting householders remotely either over the phone or on online platforms and through our home visit service.

You will also have an opportunity to contribute to the Advice Centre’s programme of outreach events with partners, such as workshops and advice surgeries as well as training events for existing and new partner organisations. This service is at the forefront to tackling fuel poverty in Scotland which can make it very challenging and rewarding.

You will be someone who enjoys interacting with customers and who is comfortable delivering advice both face-to-face and on the telephone. You will like variety, be flexible in your approach and be a real team player. You will have a good working knowledge of the current support available to householders to help them stay warm at home. As the role involves a significant amount of travel across south-east Scotland, a full valid driving licence or other ways of fulfilling the mobility requirements of the job is essential
