Employment Advocacy Worker

  • Part time
  • £26,798 pro-rata
  • Edinburgh
  • Closing 6th November 2020

  • Advertised from 23rd October 2020
  • 3 to 4 days per week. Fixed term contract until March 2022

Role

This post is funded by the National Lottery Young Start to support a new project called Get Hired. Get Hired has developed from our partnership project, Maximise!, which works to identify vulnerable families who need additional support to increase household income. We view this as a response that will prevent poverty and reduce the likelihood of a ‘lost generation’ post Covid.

• The Worker will directly engage with 20 of the most disadvantaged young people in our Maximise! service, many who are care experienced and at high risk of long-term unemployment.

• The Worker will offer support and upskilling, mostly virtually, building trust and linking into our wider skills and employability services to help move each young person into a positive destination.

• The Worker will manage a small fund of £10,000 to help remove barriers and aid progression.

Please note this is a part-time post with flexible hours, minimum 20 and maximum 30 hours per week. Hours and working pattern are negotiable.

Secondments will be considered.
