Are you interested in joining Scotland’s leading children’s charity to support our Transformation Programme? If so, we are looking for an ambitious Digital Designer to play a central role in the redesign of our services and development of new innovative solutions, products and resources. We are looking for someone with real passion for digital design and UX/UI for improving the lives of some of Scotland’s most vulnerable children and families.
This is an exciting position where you can make a real difference to the charity and people’s lives.
ABOUT ABERLOUR
Aberlour supports children, young people and families to give them the best chance to flourish, and we’ve been doing it for over 140 years. We work with families, listening to them, to make sure they get the help they need and want, so we don’t take a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
We are progressive in our approach to work and we encourage and support our staff to be innovative and proactive in improving what we do to get better outcomes for children.
We have an exciting few years ahead at Aberlour as we undertake our Transformation Programme which will transform both the way we work and how we deliver services to the children, young people and families that we support. We’ve won a significant grant from the National Lottery Community Fund Digital Fund that’s going to help us do this.
Our service users are already at the heart of everything we do, and we want them to actively participate in designing our services. Using digital innovation as an enabler we want to ensure that they can access the support they need how and when they want it. We want to find new, more responsive and more effective ways of reaching children and families that need help early, before they are at crisis point. We’re also going to streamline our internal process and make sure that our staff have the right tools to be able to do their job in as efficient a way as possible.
THE ROLE
Aberlour is looking for a user-centred, creative and driven Digital Designer to join us and play a central role in projects with a focus on creating intuitive, inclusive and accessible solutions and resources. These could be anything from storyboards that illustrate design ideas to web-based sites or resources to mobile/tablet apps.
You should have a demonstrable portfolio of user-centred, responsive and well-researched design work.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Aberlour is a diverse organisation with many different types of service. It is likely that every day will be different, and you’ll get to interact with a lot of different people. However, a typical week for our Digital Designer might include:
