This is an exciting opportunity to be a key player in setting up a marketing and community fundraising function for LinkLiving. If you are keen to make a difference to the people that we support, then this is the role for you. The aim of this new role is to both raise the profile of LinkLiving and to set up and manage community fundraising to aid in the delivery of a more diverse income model to enable the charity to support more beneficiaries to lead fulfilling lives.
As a Marketing and Fundraising Officer around 60% of your time will be spent focusing on marketing activities central to which will be writing impactful stories to raise awareness of the charity through a range of channels. You will be responsible for all social media and the website as well as raising awareness in the media. You will also organise both marketing and fundraising events and manage the marketing materials.
The other 40% of the role will be focused on fundraising. This primarily involves developing LinkLiving’s new community fundraising plan working with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing. You will recruit and support new community volunteer fundraisers and set up and manage fundraising events. In addition, the Marketing and Fundraising Officer will be responsible for reporting on fundraising and marketing progress against targets for the department and recording marketing and fundraising activities on the CRM database.
As a Marketing and Fundraising Officer, the successful applicant should have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience, or professional qualification (e.g. CIM or IOF). We are looking for someone who is a natural story-teller with top notch writing skills and who also has a very strong flair for engaging with people. You should be a self-starter with a can do attitude. You must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a marketing/communications/PR role and have a high level of attention to detail. Due to the marketing activities required of the role you must also be tech savvy with strong experience of using social media in a business context.
