Digital Communications Officer

Staf is Scotland’s membership organisation for all those involved in the lives of young people leaving care, with over 70 members across the public, third and independent sectors. Our vision is that the wellbeing and success of young people leaving care in Scotland is indistinguishable from their peers in the general population.

We work with and alongside young people and those who support them to achieve our vision through participation projects, the development of policy and practice and our programme of learning events.

We are looking for a passionate and creative person to join our committed team. You will support us to fully utilise our website and social media to help us amplify the voice of young people and our members, promote our work and ensure our stakeholders understand our impact.

Personal specification:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • In depth understanding of social media platforms and other digital tools.
  • Ability to produce creative outputs for social media including graphics.
  • Ability to create engaging and informative communications in a variety of formats.
  • Relevant degree qualification or experience of working in a communications, social media or creative role.

Main Functions of Role:

  • To support the Policy and Communications Manager in creating and delivering campaigns to increase brand awareness, membership and attendance at events.
  • To monitor Staf’s website and update regularly to keep up to date with engaging content.
  • To create and curate content for our website and social media platforms.
  • To design materials including graphics, leaflets and reports.
