Events Coordinator

Role

Staf is Scotland’s membership organisation for all those involved in the lives of young people leaving care, with over 70 members across the public, third and independent sectors. Our vision is that the wellbeing and success of young people leaving care in Scotland is indistinguishable from their peers in the general population.

We work with and alongside young people and those who support them to achieve our vision through participation projects, the development of policy and practice and our programme of learning events.

We are looking for a technology capable and organised person to join our committed team. You will support us to run regular events using a variety of online platforms. You will be involved in all aspects of our events offering from forward planning to ensuring that they run smoothly on the day. You will have an aptitude for working online and a knowledge of the tools available to provide online gatherings.

Personal specification:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Understanding of online platforms and other digital tools and aptitude for investigating and learning about other tools.
  • Extremely well organised and able to create detailed plans and put into motion.
  • Ability to support the learning and development team with evaluation and statistics.
  • Relevant qualification or experience of working in an events or business administration role.

Main Functions of Role:

  • Set up and manage logistics for online events (meetings, webinars and conferences) using a variety of platforms including Zoom and MS Teams.
  • Support staff and facilitators in the technical aspects of setting up and running online events (meetings, webinars and conferences).
  • Provide support for attendees to ensure they are able to access the events and are provided with instructions and invitations for joining them.
  • Communicate with attendees before and after events, providing agendas, joining instructions, technical information and follow up information such as copies of presentations.

Location:

As per current Scottish Government Guidelines, all staff are currently working from home. Should this change, you will be working at Staf’s office in Glasgow
