Are you passionate to lead an experienced team of counsellors and practitioners to build resilience in young people and families that prevents homelessness in Scotland?

We are looking for a manager to lead Upstream, our existing therapeutic befriending and counselling service, currently operational within five schools in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. The role also involves supporting our Family Worker in Whiteinch. In total, the team has three full time staff and in collaboration with them the successful applicant will be responsible for developing and expanding the service provision into other schools and local authorities.

We engage with young people and families in communities to offer professional assistance, guidance and support in resolving personal or psychological problems by creating resilience, improving mental health and coping strategies to ultimately reduce homelessness in areas where the potential for it is a real concern.

Candidates will require significant experience of professional counselling and a demonstrable passion for working with people from a range of backgrounds including vulnerable individuals and a personal drive to see people on the margins of society have their lives transformed.

The role is open to opportunities for flexible working in conversation with the Director of Homelessness Prevention.

Applicants should have and be able to evidence an active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require an enhanced disclosure and membership of the PVG scheme.
