Up for a new challenge? Want to make a difference?
Love people and are good at listening?
Self-motivated and like to keep busy?
We are looking for a Carer Support Worker to deliver our exciting new project. Funded for 2 years thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, the Breakthrough project will provide 1-1 support and advocacy to families, especially with regards to helping carers access and/or organise a respite break, always needed but especially so after Lockdown. It will also provide a range of carer support groups – virtually at the moment but hopefully ‘in person’ eventually. Carers were badly affected by Lockdown and as a new project, this is also an opportunity to think creatively in how to provide the above supports.
The successful applicant will need to be an enthusiastic individual that delivers; a self-starter with excellent communication and organisation skills. You need to be passionate about making a difference to carers and their families but also able to demonstrate what that difference is.
You will be completely working from home initially but must be able to travel to our offices in Milngavie (less than 25 minutes from Glasgow centre by train). As restrictions ease, you may still be able to partly home-work on an ongoing basis.
