About the Role:

Are you interested in joining an award-winning Scottish charity whose aim is to provide support to people whose lives are affected by mental health problems or illness? Support in Mind Scotland have an exciting opportunity in their Mental Health and Money Advice Team for someone with a passion for helping people with mental health and money issues.

We are looking for someone who is skilled at managing our Mental Health and Money Advisers with their clients and casework.

In this varied and exciting role, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Mental Health and Money Advice Service, putting our strategic aims into practice. Working alongside Mental Health UK and the Project lead within Support in Mind Scotland, you will be responsible for setting, implementing and reviewing the policies and procedures for the service.

This self-motivated role will give you an opportunity to develop and maintain positive team dynamics in an expanding service, including working closely with our referral partners and external stakeholders to promote the service across Scotland and the UK as a whole.

Additionally, you will be invited to contribute to research and consultation within the Mental Health and Money Advice landscape on behalf of Mental Health UK and Support in Mind Scotland.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate would be someone who has experience in managing advice services as well as a working knowledge of the regulatory frameworks governing financial services, mainly experience in Scottish National Standards for Advice and Information Providers. The successful candidate must have experience in providing advice on debt solutions and Welfare Rights in order to complete quality monitoring checks, in-house training, coaching, supervision and support for the team.

This is an opportunity to expand our pioneering Mental Health and Money Advice service and offer assistance with clients’ benefits and money issues. The Mental Health and Money Advice service is the first UK-wide advice service dedicated to stopping the spiral of inequality, financial difficulties and mental health issues by providing accurate, factual and tailored information to each service user. Advice will be provided online, over the telephone, and virtually, where appropriate. This service is delivered in Scotland by Support in Mind Scotland, Rethink Mental Illness in England, Hafal in Wales, and Mindwise in Northern Ireland. This service is currently referral only working in partnership with our own internal Services as well as well as our partner organisations National Debtline, Stepchange, Money & Pensions Service, Home Energy Scotland and Money Advice Scotland.
