Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity transforms the lives of over 120,000 children and young people, from across Scotland, each year, so they can be a child first and a patient second. The charity supports and complements the work of Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children as well as other healthcare settings across the Lothians, Borders and Fife.

We provide vital services through our youth work and family support service and run one of the largest and most innovative arts programmes in the UK. In addition, we run a Grants Programme which distributes around £1 million each year to enhance the healthcare experiences of children and young people at the hospital, in community healthcare and mental health services.

With the opening of the new Royal Hospital for Children and Young People for some outpatient clinics this month and the move of the entire hospital anticipated later this year, it is an exciting time to join the charity.

We are looking to recruit a high-calibre, driven professional with the experience and skills required to support the Director of Operations and Finance to deliver one of the organisation’s goals; providing excellence in governance, management and controls and providing effective systems and processes which support the team to deliver results for children, young people and their families.

As Business Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the effective day to day financial and operational management of the charity. You will play a key role in driving operational efficiency across the organisation and will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate systems, organisational policies and procedures are in place. You will be an experienced finance professional who will use their skills and experience in accounting, financial management and operational administration to drive improvements in organisational effectiveness.

A positive, proactive manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, you will have the excellent leadership and communication skills required not only to manage a team of three but also for ensuring success when collaborating cross-functionally within the wider staff team of 24 and for managing key external relationships. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail will be needed for responsibilities such as the preparation of management accounts, managing the annual audit and reviewing business processes and policies.
