Our Midlothian service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join our friendly team, delivering support across Midlothian, working from our base in Dalkeith. This is an exciting time to join our service, as we develop our systemic, therapeutic and peer support capacity in enabling families in their recovery from the impact of problematic substance use, social isolation and poor mental health.
Children 1st offer relational based support, taking a restorative, strengths based and trauma informed approach to enable individuals and families to achieve their goals. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and experienced in whole family systems approach, with a sound knowledge of the impact of substance misuse on parenting and children. You will have a lead role within the team in coordinating and undertaking assessment of families and in creating outcome focused support plans, which ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. You will have the opportunity to engage in therapeutic 1:1 support with children and their families as well as co- work with colleagues as required. You will be experienced in working collaboratively with families, as part of a team and alongside a range of professionals.

You will be expected to respond to the needs of families by working flexible hours, including some weekend support.
