Role

We are recruiting an Employability Development Worker to support the development of a new service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new multidisciplinary team to offering support to families in the Musselburgh area. Our families, is a new service, offering therapeutic family support, practical support, money advice, housing advice and employability support to families with children under the age of 12.

The aim of the project is to break the cycle of poverty, by offering families holistic support addressing multiple barriers to employment. You will be supporting families to progress along the employability pipeline. Working with them individually and within groups.

You will be responsible for building, rebuilding links with schools and existing services in the community, providing employability support to families in the Musselburgh east area and building relationships with families in the community, in schools and in their homes.

This is a part time, fixed term post of 17.5 hours per week, funded until 01 July 2022.

Hours to be worked flexibly to suit the needs of the service and the school (evenings and occasional weekends will be required).
