We are looking for a Young People’s Worker for our residential respite service, working 24 hours per week. As part of a small team, you will ensure that the highest level of physical and emotional care is provided to the children and young people. Experience in this type of work is preferred however we will consider all applications. You must be able to commit to working Friday, Saturday and Sunday every week. Sleepovers form part of the regular working pattern and full details of rota requirements will be discussed at interview.

You will receive a planned and supported induction consisting of a varied training programme; including CALM Training, Child Protection Training and support to complete an SVQ3. You will be working alongside a highly motivated and skilled team to provide a personalised service for our young people.

For this service you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council, and will have or be prepared to gain a qualification at SCQF 7 or above (for example: SVQ3 Care plus an HNC).

Aberlour Options Lothian offers a range of short break services including overnights at our respite home, outreach, care at home and sibling group. We offer a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us. Our service is open from Friday to Sunday every week.
