Community Renewal is a charity at the cutting-edge of new ways of working towards a Scotland without poverty.

We work to build community and improve quality of life by engaging individuals and families, supporting them to achieve sustainable employment, improved health and to become more involved in their community.

We are currently seeking an Employability Case Worker to deliver two of our Edinburgh based employability programmes – the Employment Safety Net and Activity Agreements, these projects are delivered mainly from our Bingham office with some work based in our Muirhouse office.

Both projects support young people who are furthest from the job market to “self-manage” their life with the aim of achieving a positive destination e.g. employment, education, training or volunteering.

We work with the young people for as long as it takes, building up support and trust to identify what they would like to do and highlight the positive effect that achieving their goals would have on their lives. Our work involves helping clients to overcome multiple barriers with individualised support, ensuring the young person is heavily involved in creating a plan that will be both interesting and beneficial to them.

The Employability Case Worker will engage with young people who have significant and multiple barriers to education, training & employment, you will be working at the heart of the community, this includes street work, door knocking to engage with young people where they feel most comfortable. We expect you to deliver a highly professional service which is human centred, compassionate, welcoming, and engaging. You will support young people in exploring employability options and includes work on CV, interview techniques, completing applications and job search. Part of your role will also include developing and facilitating appropriate group work activities that will contribute to young people's personal and employability development.
