Multichannel Debt Advice Project Manager

At Citizens Advice Scotland we are currently advertising two roles that will support the next stage in our debt advice offering

The first role is a Multichannel Debt Advice Development Manager that requires operational experience. The other role is a Policy Manager (Financial Health) that requires a policy background (you can find more details about this role here). Together, the roles will help us to transform our debt advice delivery and ensure that those experiencing debt get the advice that they need and have a voice in shaping national policy in this area. We know that COVID-19 will mean that more people than ever are likely to experience money and debt issues and our ambition is to be the leading advice agency in this field. The delivery of debt advice is evolving, creating an unprecedented opportunity to tailor debt advice services to the needs of Scottish citizens and we want the bureaux service to be at the forefront of this.

Citizens Advice Scotland seeks to ensure that the Citizens Advice network in Scotland remains at the forefront of holistic debt advice delivery through a consistent, quality assured debt advice provided by the bureaux network, linked into other national and local providers.

The impact of COVID 19 has meant Citizens Advice Bureaux have moved to delivering debt advice over the phone and web, where it makes sense to do so, to continue to work effectively. The coming months will see an unprecedented need for more debt advice.

As a Multichannel Debt Advice Development Manager, you will be a champion for improvement, you will help the bureaux to incorporate what works into their operational practice, enabling locally flexible channels of delivery of debt advice. You will be responsible for driving and shaping improvements in the Citizens Advice network in Scotland’s approach to debt advice and ensuring the network has the support and resources to deliver more and better debt advice.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, can lead with drive and enthusiasm, able to efficiently manage the project and play a key role in making positive change to the lives of people in Scotland.

*This role is normally based in our Edinburgh/Glasgow office. As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, all CAS staff are currently working from home and we would therefore expect the successful candidate would be required to work from home initially. Re-opening our offices will be carefully planned and managed in accordance with the latest Scottish Government guidance and public health advice. Candidates should be prepared to work from home initially, but be aware that attendance at the normal office base will be required in future. We are currently reviewing our home working policy in response to the COVID-19 crisis and ongoing opportunities to work from home can be discussed with the successful candidate at offer stage.
