About the Role

SAMH has a well established reputation for delivering excellent support to people with mental health problems throughout Dundee. We are seeking outstanding and motivated people to deliver the service and provide support to people with enduring mental illnesses and complex needs to regain their independence and improve their self-resilience and self-management skills.

What we are looking for

Opportunities have arisen for Support worker 2 roles in our Dundee Outreach & Carer service. We expect our support workers to establish positive relationships with service users and offer practical and emotional support. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a mature and caring attitude and possess excellent listening and communication skills. They will also have experience of working in the field of mental health or social care and will be qualified to SVQ Level III in care or equivalent or the willingness to undertake this. Whatever your background, a flexible caring approach combined with good practical skills will be essential. We are looking for people who are able to work flexible hours. Our Outreach service operates 7 days a week and as such, the post will involve a variety of shift patterns, including evening and weekend work. Requirement to participate in on calls and flexible working practices across our other services in the city is included in order to deliver a high-quality, person-centred service to those we support.

The post will involve travel across various locations so a full driving licence and access to your own transport is required.
