Rock Trust are delighted to be recruiting a new Team Leader for our Housing Services in Edinburgh and East Lothian. The Team Leader (Technical Apprenticeship) provides the opportunity to lead a team of experienced frontline staff and to gain the skills and work experience to achieve the SVQ4 in Health and Social Care.

These services will support young people who are homeless to transition to permanent, independent accommodation. The Team Leader will be expected to:

• Play a leading role in the continuing development of our services
• Lead and manage a team of high performing service delivery staff
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with key partners
• Promote and share evaluation, learning and best practice
• Provide high quality housing support to a reduced caseload

We are Rock Trust and our vision is an end to youth homelessness in Scotland Who we are For 30 years we have been working to prevent youth homelessness and to support young people to build better futures. We aim to ensure that every young person in Scotland has access to expert youth specific services to assist them to avoid, survive and move on from homelessness. We work to ensure that the public, policy makers, commissioners and practitioners understand the issues, make decisions and take action which will help us to end youth homelessness.

The Health and Wellbeing Worker will be working along side two art therapists and a peer mentor project worker in the team. The team’s focus is supporting young people’s mental health who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. They will receive individual and group clinical supervision. The Health and Wellbeing Worker will be based within the Youth Development Team but will work with other teams in the organisation. The Health and Wellbeing Worker will use a person-centered approach with young people to build trust and enable them to improve outcomes with a focus on:

• Mental and emotional health, self-esteem, and confidence
• Relationships, boundaries, and safety

The Health and Wellbeing Worker will work with young people within drop ins, one-to-one support, and group work. Where appropriate they will support young people to gain additional support from statutory services.

Venture Scotland offers an outdoor-based personal development programme which empowers young people aged 16-30, who face complex and difficult challenges in their lives, to create and sustain change.

We focus on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of our Young People, working with them to make lasting changes in their lives and helping them play a positive role in their communities.

We are seeking a Stores Technician who identifies with our values of Trust, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Environment and Personal Development, to assist the Edinburgh and Glasgow Delivery Teams to deliver our outdoors based, long term Journey programme. There will be opportunities to go on Outdoor activities with our Outdoor Programme Leaders and attend activity training for your own personal development. You will also assist the Delivery teams in day to day administration tasks, such as keeping the drying room clean and tidy, cleaning, storing, maintaining and repairing activity equipment. The job will also involve ordering food, updating notice boards. You will be based in Edinburgh but this role will include assisting the Glasgow Delivery team, too (your travel to Glasgow will be reimbursed).

Although we ask you to imagine this, digital makerspaces already exist and our TEK CARE project will co-create new digital makerspaces with and for care experienced young people right across Scotland.

YMCA Scotland is leading the TEK CARE partnership with 5 other organisations: Barnardos Scotland, Mohr Collective, Renfrewshire Council, Scottish Tech Army and Youthlink Scotland. This is a Life Changes Trust Legacy Project.
