Role

The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 54,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

The Executive Administrator will provide comprehensive, effective and efficient administration support to the Officers of RCGP Scotland, ensuring that everything is addressed promptly, and decisions are progressed and actioned appropriately in a timely manner.

We are looking for someone with exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and a can-do attitude. You will have previous experience of providing high level and complex administrative support as well as executive diary management. You will also have experience of working in a busy office environment to tight deadlines.

You will:

  • Provide administrative support for the Officers of RCGP Scotland
  • Be the first point of contact on all queries relating to RCGP Scotland Officers
  • Manage and monitor Officer email accounts
  • Maintain an accurate weekly diary log of the Officer activity
  • Coordinate RCGP Scotland GP representatives for external bodies as well as RCGP Scotland Clinician Representatives
  • Accompany Officers and take minutes at any relevant internal and external meetings
  • Organise travel, accommodation, meeting rooms and catering where required.

This role will involve hybrid working with a minimum of two working days in the Edinburgh office in the city centre. We offer flexible working hours Monday to Friday.
